We don’t have a full nutrient profile publicly available. However, we do guarantee that we meet and exceed all nutrient levels recommended by FEDIAF for a complete and balanced diet.
-
The difference between buying supermarket meat and feeding Proudi is that our products have been scientifically formulated by food scientists and animal nutritionists. These professionals break down every ingredient into molecule level nutrients including protein, fats, carbs, calcium, phosphorus, omega-3, omega-6 etc. They then formulate the product to a ratio so that the amount of a particular nutrient from all of the different ingredients combined exceeds the AAFCO, FEDIAF and NRC standards for dog or cat nutrition. When you purchase human grade meat from the supermarket, it will not be a complete and balanced diet. It will definitely provide nutrients but will not provide all of the different nutrients in the correct quantities needed for dogs or cats to thrive.
There are ways to DIY raw feed (weighing out a certain amount or organs, edible bone, muscle meat etc to make up a different percentage of your dog or cat’s food). However, this can be difficult and time consuming in terms of mastering the nutrition and sourcing the ingredients from the supermarket (usually there is a limited variety of organ meat available). If doing a complete DIY raw diet properly, the diet still won’t be scientifically formulated to meet and exceed standards set by FEDIAF, AAFCO or NRC.
Proudi test the nutrition levels in each batch to ensure that every nutritional requirement is met. We do this while ensuring that 95% of our product consists of muscle meat, organs, finely ground bone (to avoid hazardous fragments) and moisture, while the rest is natural vitamins and minerals. All ingredients and manufacturing processes are 100% human grade.
-
We use premium human grade ingredients to formulate our complete and balanced products. Fat levels are listed on the nutrition panel on the back of each box, and on the product pages on our website.
Every batch of Proudi is tested to ensure that its nutrient profile aligns with the way it has been expertly formulated.
If your pet requires a very low fat diet for medical reasons, we recommend you consult with your vet before making a change to their diet.
-
We use a bovine source of high pharmaceutical grade bone powder. It contains 100% bone, without the protein allergen.
Only a small percentage is included for its nutritional value and to meet the AAFCO, FEDIAF and NRC industry nutrition standards for complete and balanced.
It would be very rare that a dog or cat would have a reaction to this bone powder. However, if concerned, it’s always best to consult your vet.
-
There is no issue with mixing multiple proteins at every meal, including mixing red and white meats. It’s a great way to add variety to your pet’s diet.
-
Yes, our products are regularly tested to ensure nutritional delivery and product safety standards. We complete multiple tests on each and every batch. Proudi has been developed by qualified and experienced food scientists and animal nutritionists.
If your companion animal has a specific requirement or sensitivity to certain ingredients, we recommend consulting with your vet prior to feeding Proudi.
-
Yes, our products have all been formulated by a qualified food scientist. Each batch is also tested multiple times to ensure they are complete and balanced. Proudi is certified as complete and balanced as per 3 international standards for pet nutrition.
General Nutrition Information
-
Proudi can be fed to kittens as PART of their diet but will not be complete and balanced as a full diet. From about 10 – 12 months of age in most breeds (excluding large breeds such as Maine Coons), kittens will have reached adulthood and either of the Proudi for cats varieties will be perfectly suitable, and complete and balanced as a whole diet. Proudi doesn’t currently have a product that is suitable for kittens as a complete diet.
We base our suitability of Proudi for puppies or kittens on the AAFCO guidelines for pet food nutrition. Certain nutrient levels are slightly lower than the recommendation for a complete and balanced diet for kittens.
-
Yes, it contains naturally occurring omegas from the raw ingredients used to make Proudi.
-
Yes, it contains naturally occurring taurine from the raw ingredients used. We also add additional taurine to ensure it is complete and balanced as per AAFCO, FEDIAF and NRC guidelines for cat nutrition.

Please note that necessary feeding amounts will vary depending on breed, life stage, activity level, environment etc. Use the guide on our packaging, or on our website, as an initial reference and adjust as necessary to achieve your pet’s ideal weight or condition.
Please consult your vet if weight gain persists or occurs quickly or suddenly, as this could be caused by an underlying condition.

Yes, Proudi is suitable for cats with urinary problems. It is not a medical diet but does have the benefits of a raw diet which can include an improvement in urinary health. This will not necessarily cure your cat but is certainly OK to feed.
If your cat has a specific medical diagnosis, we recommend consulting with your vet before changing diets.
-
Yes, raw food is safe for cats. As obligate carnivores, it is the most natural and species appropriate diet they can eat. They have short, acidic digestive tracts and a specific set of enzymes perfect for digesting raw meat and bone.
It is also important for cats to have a diet rich in moisture. Their natural instincts don’t always remind them to drink water because wild cats tend to rely on the moisture found in their prey for hydration. Proudi is formulated to mimic the whole prey that wild cats would hunt and consume and consists of 95% muscle meat, organs, moisture and bone, plus 5% vitamins and minerals.
Proudi use 100% human grade ingredients, manufactured in a Safe Food QLD certified human grade factory. We use trusted human grade suppliers who supply the same produce to supermarkets, restaurants and fast-food chains for human consumption. Therefore, we guarantee the best possible quality raw food.
However, as with preparing meat for human consumption, it is important to clean hands, surfaces, feeding bowls and utensils after feeding to minimise any spread of bacteria around the house.

Feeding your cat a few patties or a full box of the dog product will not do them any harm. However, it’s important to note that dogs and cats have different nutritional requirements and Proudi for dogs is formulated to be complete and balanced for dogs only. This means that if you feed your cat the dog patties long term, they will miss out on essential nutrients in the appropriate ratios for their species. Therefore, we don’t recommend feeding them the dog product long term.

Our nutritionist has suggested the Proudi Beef for Dogs would be the best formula for your dog. However, when feeding animals with specific medical conditions and requirements, we always recommend consulting your vet first.

If your dog has a sensitive stomach, we recommended starting with the Proudi Chicken for Dogs. If they are going well on this, you may like to move onto the Chicken and Turkey for Dogs for some variety. This is a great white meat combo which would still be gentle on their stomach.
It’s also important to ensure that you transition your dog to their new food slowly to avoid any temporary digestive issues associated with sudden diet change. If you haven’t already, please refer to this article for information on how to transition to Proudi. https://www.proudi.com/transitioning-your-dog-or-cat-to-a-raw-diet/
If your dog’s sensitive stomach is due to an underlying medical condition, we recommend you consult your vet before changing their diet.
-
If you’re concerned about a potential food intolerance, I suggest starting with either the beef or the chicken. This is because if there is an issue with a particular protein, starting with a single protein will rule it out. Raw diets in general are great for dogs who get skin problems, so if it’s not due to a protein, any of the varieties would be great.
If unsure or if skin problems persist, please be sure to consult your vet. -
Proudi shouldn’t make your dog’s dermatitis worse as it is a natural raw diet which is great for the maintaining healthy skin and coat condition.
However, as they have a diagnosed condition, I recommend getting the advice of a vet before changing their diet in case they have a food sensitivity to one or some of the proteins we use in Proudi. If you are switching your dog to a raw diet, this article provides information on how to transition slowly to avoid any temporary side effects caused by sudden diet change:

Yes, Proudi is fine to feed weaning puppies. We sell to some breeders who wean their puppies using Proudi.
It can be fed as part of the proper weaning process from around 4 weeks old. Once they are fully weaned onto Proudi, this article contains information on feeding Proudi to puppies: https://www.proudi.com/raw-feeding-for-puppies/
The feeding guides on our packaging are for adult dogs only. Please refer to the puppy feeding guide at the below link when feeding Proudi to fully weaned puppies, aged approximately 6 weeks and up: https://www.proudi.com/feeding-guide/ -
Yes, we have some customers who love our products but do prefer the BARF model or raw feeding and so add a small amount of fruit and/ or vegetables to their dog’s meals. Please be mindful that a traditional BARF diet only includes around 10% fruit and vegetables, so be sure not to include too much as it may cause digestive upset.
Having said this, in case you weren’t aware, Proudi is based on the PMR (prey model raw) model of raw feeding, which is why it consists of 95% muscle meat, offal and powdered bone and does not contain fruit or vegetables. It is certified complete and balanced as per FEDIAF, AAFCO and NRC guidelines. Therefore, you do not need to add anything to Proudi but it’s a personal choice as to which model of raw feeding you prefer.

We would like to reassure you that the ingredients, suppliers and recipes used to make Proudi have all remained the same.
The only process that has changed is the way in which the product is frozen. While we used to use nitrogen to freeze the product, we now use a natural freezing process. As a result, the colour of the meat may differ to the way it used to appear. It no longer experiences freezer burn or ice build-up around the product which used to be a common occurrence with the previous freezing method. While this didn’t affect the quality or safety of the meat, it did lead to colour changes in the product.
There will continue to be slight colour variations between batches as Proudi is a natural product with slight variances in the colour of raw ingredients supplied.
For more information about our recent changes, you may like to refer to this article: https://www.proudi.com/new-packaging-update/

Proudi patties can be defrosted in the fridge for use over a 2 or 3 day period. We advise that you don’t leave them in the fridge for any longer than 3 days from frozen.
The meat will spoil just as meat for human consumption would, so if it doesn’t look or smell right, we don’t recommend you feed it. It’s always best to err on the side of caution for the health and safety of the animals. -
This would depend on a couple of factors including the ambient temperature and the temperature of the Proudi patties. In a warm climate, we don’t recommend leaving Proudi patties out uneaten for any longer than half an hour (if the patties are completely thawed and room temperature). This time may increase in cold climates, or decrease in very hot climates.
As a general rule, as long as you would feel comfortable to leave raw meat out that was intended to be cooked for human consumption.
If it doesn’t look or smell right, we don’t recommend you feed it. It’s always best to err on the side of caution for the health and safety of the animals. -
We advise that you do not thaw and refreeze Proudi patties.
-
We don’t recommend defrosting Proudi in the microwave.
However, if you forget to defrost your Proudi patties, you can speed up the thawing process by keeping them in their inner packaging and placing them in a bowl of warm water. You may like to put the patties in a plastic bag when doing this for an extra layer of protection against possible leakage.

Please be sure to use them as guides only. Necessary feeding amounts can vary, depending on factors such as age, breed and activity level. It’s important to monitor your pet to ensure they are maintaining a healthy weight, making any necessary adjustments as needed.
